Whether you’re a social butterfly with a big circle of friends or a naturally quiet person looking for a few close companions to share your time with, The Village of East Harbor has you covered.
An active senior living community, The Village of East Harbor’s independent living units and the new spacious ranch homes and mid-rise apartments known as the Harbor Inn, are occupied by mature adults with shared life experiences and similar interests. You can get to know your neighbors and develop genuine friendships while attending various activities on site, working out in the new health and wellness center and enjoying a bite to eat in the dining room or Jim's Grill.
“It’s a close-knit community where everyone looks out for each other,” said Carolyn Martin, administrator at The Village of East Harbor. “There are many opportunities to meet new people while enjoying activities you love.”
An engagement coordinator on staff plans a variety of clubs, activities, parties and outings to fit everyone’s interests. Holidays and birthdays are celebrated, cards are played, and shows are planned. There is ongoing spiritual programming and informational events, like “Why Now vs. Later,” where a real estate and financial advisor will answer questions on July 12. Other upcoming events include a murder mystery dinner, Senior Prom, Three Men and a Tenor concert, Nuns Act and much more.
From 6-8 p.m. on July 14, The Back Beats, a premiere Beatles tribute band, will perform at The Village of East Harbor. Music fans are sure to enjoy the tunes in front of the new midrise apartments and there will even be a food truck provided by The Cheese Wagon to add to the festive fun starting at 5 p.m. The concert is free.
“If you like to stay busy and enjoy social engagements, this is where it is at,” added Suzanne McCallum, admissions coordinator and community liaison.
One of the community’s biggest events is also right around the corner: The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting event for The Harbor Inn at 1:30 p.m. July 21. Residents, staff and the entire New Baltimore community will celebrate the completed construction of the homes and apartments with Hawaiian dancers, Hawaiian snacks and more.
Martin said the first residents are beginning to move in. Everyone in attendance can enjoy a tour of the new buildings and there will be several move-in incentives offered. She said interested persons should consider calling a leasing specialist at (586) 725-6030 as soon as possible for more information.
“Excitement for this has been building for some time and now that moment is finally here!” she said. “We couldn’t be prouder, and we are looking forward to meeting everyone.”
The spacious new ranch homes with garages and one- and two-bedroom mid-rise apartments at The Village of East Harbor are stunning in person. Potential residents often marvel at the open floor plan and fully equipped kitchen, pantry, 8-foot ceilings with coves, high grade finishes, oversized windows and stackable washer/dryer unit in the ranch homes and the patios and balconies, appliance packages, smart technology and carports available with rental of the mid-rise apartments.
If you can’t attend in person, no worries. Simply log on to view stunning drone footage that shows the beautiful campus up close. This virtual tour covers every nook and cranny, making you feel just like you were there.
Deciding to move – and leaving behind a home and neighborhood they have loved for years – can be a difficult decision, but it’s a step most seniors don’t regret taking. Instant kinship with others, ready-made activities and the freedom to enjoy life instead of tackling household maintenance chores are just a few of the benefits that come with independent senior living.
There’s so much to see and do on campus and the surrounding community that you’ll never be bored. Amenities at The Village of East Harbor include a chapel, chef-inspired dining options, resident-run activities and health and wellness center.
Even pets can join in the fun as all units are pet friendly.
When you do want to venture off campus for shopping, medical appointments and entertainment, The Village of East Harbor is conveniently located near libraries, veterinarians, farmers markets, pharmacies, churches, golf courses, salons – even the beach!
Rest, relax and enjoy the good life on the scenic 44-acre campus. Even though it is conveniently located in town, wildlife like bunnies, fox and deer also enjoy the peaceful and serene atmosphere that preserves natural areas and green spaces. The newly constructed ranch apartments back up to wooded areas, creating a scenic and peaceful setting for chatting with guests, reading a new bestseller or tending to a patio garden.
